I saw this boy in Cracow on the Old Town. He has been sitting and playing for the whole day. Why does such a small child earn money? Where are his parents? Don't they really care about him?

EDIT
Oh my God... That's all I wanna say.
Thank you for the DD!

EDIT 2
I saw 1 request for a print so now print's available. Enjoy

great photo!

Child playing accordion! Awesome.

That's really unfortunate. :S That's almost as bad as child labor. I doubt he's an orphan :S A small kid like him shouldn't be out in the streets sitting there all day trying to earn money. I mean, I see a few middle aged people playing instuments in the train stations, and I think - why don't they earn money in other way? there should be a better and more productive way of doing it...but that child...it's a whole lot of different story.

the picture is good by the way.

-.- Not much for now I guess, keh...
Parents use their kids to play for them, besides:
Who would you give money to? an old man with an accordion or an innocent child playing for hours?

Great photo nonetheless.

I know quite a few kids who will quite happily busk 'till they drop. Not because they have to or because they need the money, although they do enjoy the fact that people give them money, because they see it as a compliment... and hey, extra pocket money! ;) but mostly they busk because they enjoy busking, the same way some kids like to play video games all day, or kick a ball around non-stop, some kids just really enjoy busking! Most of the time their parents have to really force them to stop (again, I have seen this). Admittedly I know that this is not always the case, but this kid doesn't look particularly miserable, he's probably there because he wants to be there.

And... um... nice photo :D
